PB VOLLEY CLINIC
Coach Brent is a personable and competent instructor who engages with students and invests time to assess performance. He leverages teachable moments for the benefit of all participants. Best instruction I have received to date and will continue to look for opportunities to learn and improve with him
MORE FEEDBACK FROM MAURICE …
Session Sunday Nov 24 on Volleys was well structured with sequential building blocks.
Had heard Coach Brent was very good and this was immediately evident.
He highlighted teachable moments that were supplemental to the specific clinic (eg paddle tracking, play versus left handers) that added value for all participants.
These clinics and Coach Brent specifically was the sole reason for joining Cedarbrae Community Association and the pickleball program
Beating Bangers Clinic Nov 26
Instructional format excellent with use of pickleball tutor to assist in learning a variety of techniques for practice and development
Class size is good as it enables Coach to monitor and interact with students
Looking forward to building skills and another session on December 1st
Response from Brent Johner
Thank you, Maurice. Best instruction you have had to date? That is a powerful compliment. Hopefully I can continue living up to that standard in our future lessons together. See you soon.
Brent
Coach Brent does an extraordinary job, patient, disciplined and pleasant. I went to his first class just to try the sport and when I saw his disciplined and respectful way of teaching, I decided to continue with his lessons. 1000% recommended.
Response from Brent Johner
Thank you, Raquel. That is a very nice thing to say. I’m very pleased to hear that you have decided to continue with lessons. I am looking forward to working with you again.
Pickleball classes
Took several pickleball lessons with Coach Brent and really enjoyed learning the game rules, all good advice and learning more about this sport. Will be back for additional classes!
ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK FROM MARIA
Thank you for the class and sharing your passion for the sport today.
I have learned a lot about the sport and game rules.
Excellent lesson with the right amount of practice, theory and breaks. Thank you for staying patient with our multiple questions and bringing us back to focus from our distractions.
Definitely will sign up for the next classes and would like to join the club so I can play more! I did not know about this club, but was doing a google search for pickleball classes near me and I am very glad I found this!
Response from Brent Johner
Thank you, Maria. It was a pleasure always. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Delighted this Opportunity is Available
1. What did you learn in today’s lesson?
The lesson focus was the backhand flick- the technique and uses in a game.
2. Please describe your impressions and/or experience.
Excellent demonstration of initial steps in the backhand flick. The ball machine was effective in providing reps. Coach offered tips for improvement in shot execution as well as ball placement as we progressed through the lesson.
3. Please describe the quality of the lesson.
The quality was excellent. Helpful individualized tips were offered to each of the three participants. After the ball machine drilling we moved onto an opportunity game where one side could work on the flick and the other side on returning a spin shot with a drop in order to provide the opportunity for the bh flick. Two skill developments in one!
As well as the shot development we were also instructed on and practiced the strategic use of the shot and its benefit in a game.
Coach was aware of the differing abilities of each of the participants and adjusted the structure of the game to equitably accommodate everyone.
4. How do lessons influence your decision to be a member of our club?
I initially joined the club last winter for instruction on team strategy with my partner. From there I took advantage of one or two lessons/drilling sessions per week during the winter and these gave me the skills and confidence to become an active member in the advanced recreational pickleball group.
Skill development via instructional drilling is a fundamental piece of improving one’s pickleball game and I am delighted this opportunity is available at Cedarbrae.
Response from Brent Johner
Thank you for reviewing our lessons, Moragh. I am delighted to hear that you describe the quality as excellent. It is always a pleasure to have you in my classes. I am looking forward to working with you again.
PickleBall Lessons 101-103
My wife and I just completed the above three intro courses. Coach was incredible- methodical, precise and completely covered all aspects of the game. We can’t wait to begin our PickleBall Rec program and add further lessons from Coach. Well done Coach Brent! Thank you
ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK FROM TOM
Thank you so much for an amazing set of Lessons 101-103.
Debbie and I learned so much about Pickleball, far more than we anticipated.
Your step by step instruction approach was fabulous.
Overall Lesson quality was over the top (10 out of 10) which only heightens our desire to participate more fully in the sport.
I honestly did not think we would play actual Pickleball games nearly as much, however was incredible.
Debbie and I are truly excited to begin to play in the Rec league at Cedarbrae Community as well as participate in your additional lessons.
Response from Brent Johner
