I am not a big believer in the importance of social media. Since we users don’t own our accounts, these services can be withdrawn instantly for no valid reason. For that reason, I don’t put a lot of energy into creating or maintaining them.

| One of my critique partners is an editor on Fiver. On 3 MAR 2026, she posted a message on Facebook about getting a new client. I replied with congratulations adding that “if any of them are looking for CPs, I hope you’ll give me some love.” She replied with a heart. Minutes after that my Facebook account was banned for CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation). I appealed, because I definitely did not do that. Less than a minute later, the appeal was denied and I was permanently locked out. Why did this happen? Because I did not know that CP, by which I meant CRITIQUE PARTER, is also short hand for CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. After nearly 20 years on that app with no other problems, I permanently lost access to my personal account, my author account, my business account, and all of the groups I had started. So . . . I am permanently gone from Facebook. I will not be recreating an account with them. If you see my name on Facebook, it is fake. | |
