As the series hurtles towards resolution, Mya is separated from her friends, and followers. A few are travelling together and some are travelling alone. And they are, for much of this installment, unaware of who among them is alive or dead.
This is a multi-POV story that follows both protagonistic and antagonistic characters in a shifting political landscape as temporary alliances take shape and disolve against a background of movement and adventure.
McAlpine, a Canadian author based in Ontario, began writing this series around the birth of his daughter. It was intended as a gift they could share: a high fantasy adventure showcasing a flawed but capable young FMC.
Mya certainly fits that description. And the story will undoubtedly delight the audience for which it was created—if it has not yet done so already.
