Driving fast and swinging hard have a lot in common. Drive too fast and you may miss your turn. Swing too hard and you may miss your shot. Both have a built-in danger of catastrophic failure.
The key to consistency is to slow down and swing with purpose. Rather than trying to win by overpowering your opponent, you should be trying to make sure that every shot you swing at lands safely in the court.
Winning points is pickleball is as simple as keeping your ball in play one more time than your opponent. Make fewer mistakes and you will win more points.
Today’s lesson was all about developing backhand consistency by backing up and slowing down.
Backing up give us the space we need to swing at the ball in a controlled manner. Slowing down allows us to make sure that every ball we hit stays in play.
Backhand consistency practice is available only to members. Practice sessions are not open to guests.
