The best thing about pickleball is the community of players. At Cedarbrae, for example, we have a wonderful group of players who are willing to do their part to help represent the various activity and interest groups that make up our pickleball community.
Today, for example, I learned that Barb Wheler has volunteered to act as an ambassador for our early morning lessons group. This is wonderful news.
Barb will attend all board meetings as a guest. She will bring back news from the board meetings to our lessons group that will help our early morning group support the awesome volunteers who are serving on our Board.
In addition to that, she will be present at meetings as a guest, to offer feedback from our early morning lessons group, should the Board call on her to do so.
And more good news … Barb will not be alone.
In addition to our morning training group, our weekend/evening leagues players will be represented as well.
Cam Moore and Stephanie Benay have agreed to act as league ambassadors. As Barb will attend board meetings to represent the early morning lessons community, Cam and Stephanie will attend to represent the players in our leagues.
As league ambassadors, they will bring back news from the Board to our league players. And, if called upon by the board, they will provide information to the board about our leagues.
As a contractor who reports directly to the Board and is therefore required attend all board meetings as a guest, I am looking forward to sitting in the audience with these pickleball program ambassadors so that we can all work together on building a pickleball program that the community of Cedarbrae can be proud of.
