This is a reality I deal with on a daily basis.
I’m not complaining. Just noting.
My ability to do what I do professionally is often at the mercy of hostile neurotypical people who know almost nothing about me but have decided they don’t like me because they think I’m “up to something.”
It’s not fair. But it’s not new either. Allistic hate is something I have been dealing with my entire life.
Talking to hostile neurotypicals about this is generally pointless. We speak a different language and their minds are already tainted by mistrust.
I just have to accept that it’s their world and that they get to make the rules that I have to live (and work) by.
At the end of the day, I act differently and teach differently because I am wired differently.
The experiences I offer my students are different because I experience the world differently.
This unique perspective is what makes my lessons unique.
I’m just happy to be able to bring people joy for as long as I am permitted.
